Of Grapes & Waves

Designer Natalia came to us with a beautiful sustainable clothing line, but the brand was holding the business back from its potential. We took her brand from forgettable to enthralling with a new name, clear brand identity, custom packaging and elevated social media.

This brand went from selling via DMs to being stocked by Europe’s biggest e-commerce site, Zalando.

#1 Naming

We began by advising Natalia to change the name of her brand - never an easy decision to make - but Natalia understood our reasons and agreed. We created ideal customer avatars, conducted market research and dove deep into the brand’s origin, inspirations and the style of the pieces to establish the brand’s foundations.

We conducted a naming brainstorm and from that the client chose the name she felt best fit the brand’s whimsical feel and Mediterranean connection, and so Of Grapes & Waves was born.

 

#2 Visual Brand Identity

With the new name settled, we set about creating a brand identity that captured the brand’s mood. We created a custom illustration of a grape tree emerging from the sea for the brand logo, and we developed this into a custom pattern for the brand’s packaging and detailing including garment lining.

 
 

 #3 Storytelling

We used the brand’s tone of voice, content and styled photoshoots to create a compelling and aspirational brand story that creates an emotional connection between the brand and customers.

 

#4 Selling the selling points

The characteristics of linen lies at the heart of the brand - that it is moisture wicking, hypoallergenic, breathable, long lasting and requires 2,500 litres less water than making the same item in cotton would, making it one of the most sustainable fabrics available. We created printed and digital material to highlight these benefits to the brand’s audience of conscious consumers.

We also helped Of Grapes & Waves with their sales and marketing by creating a multi currency Shopify site, email marketing and build up an email list via a giveaway.
